Osiris Web Services was founded in 2010 by Jon Izzard. "I sort of got into doing this by accident" says our MD, "I was out of work and my wife was working with someone whose husband owned a small business and was having computer trouble in his office and suggested I give him a call. I did and went over and got him sorted out but saw that his software was literally a decade out of date. If his clients sent Microsoft Office files, he couldn't open them. So I sorted that out as well, got him an up to date, state of the art Office suite, and it didn't cost him a thing. Legally.

After that, I realised that many firms didn't have the resources to deal with equipment failures, connectivity problems and because they quite rightly don't like paying someone to be on call that they don't need for months on end, they don't know who to call. I don't charge monthly retainers, call out and if I can't fix the problem - I don't charge for that either.

Next thing I was being asked to fix people's home equipment. Most of the time it's really simple stuff but the problem is that when you don't know something it's a huge problem. It might take me a few minutes or maybe an hour to put right, but it's a showstopper for the client.

One of my favourite services that we provide is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). Before I got into that I hadn't heard of it, had no idea what it was or that it existed. But when I did find out about it and what it does - wow! Anyone who doesn't have an active SEO programme probably doesn't have an efficient website that is actively supporting and enhancing their business because they aren't getting enough traffic.

It takes a while, but when it all comes together and my client's website starts to climb up the search engine results it's a real buzz of satisfaction. There's a page that explains more about what SEO is and what we do for you.
